Do you all still remember when we were 9 to 10; there was a T.V series about a legendary hero from outer space. The hero called Gaban a police from outer space. Gaban is asked to defend the earth from alien invader.
Space Cop Gaban is believed to be the first super heroes clad in metal costumes. This kind of ‘Metal Heroes’ then followed by Cyber Cop, Mighty Morphine Power Rangers and many more.
Laser Z Blade is his ultimate weapon, and I still remember the famous word he always said when he cut the enemies in to two “Gaban Z Belah 2”. This special technique he always use at the end of the combat.
Gaban also got a spaceship that can turn into a dragon. Gaban uses this dragon mostly to destroy enemy space craft. The dragon able to breathes out fire form its mouth, firing a laser beam from its eyes and whipping its tail to overcome attacks from behind.
Another thing that makes Gaban unforgettable heroes is the theme song. I love this catchy song and still remember the chorus “wakasau wakasau takenada”.

It became a pop-culture cult now. Everywhere you go there's Gaban, Gavan, Gyaban, X-OR (France) or what ever they might call it. It is also interesting to see how the Japanese and American entertainment industry able to create something that long lasting icon.
We still could remember Visionaries, Thundercat, Transformers, Biker Mars from Mars, Duck Tales, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Ultraman (1st), Space Cop Gaban, Black Mask Rider, Voltron, Robotech, Macross, Doraemon and many more. I'd say these animation could have been at least 20 years and still remembered and some of them is still on air!
Ours cannot beat them. We certainly have culture values to be visualize in such animation, but can it be remembered and last for at least 10 years?. Sure that the industry players can catch up with the animation technology but still lagged behind. It is not the techniques or skill that matters, its the ability to 'preserve' so that it can be recall in the next 20 years. Who remember Usop Sontorian, Kluang Man, Cicak Man and some other local animation?. I don't. The only animation that I remember is produced by FINAS. About the monkey ate a lot of chilies, the Sang Kancil & Buaya and some other TV pendidikan animations.
Why some people even bother to Cosplay (Costume Play) on animation characters?.
Anyway, where can I find that Gaban head gear? I wanna match it to my Nsr. ekekekeke
